America Magazine
For over 100 years, America has been the foremost national Catholic weekly magazine for the United States, published by the Jesuits. I was honored to redesign their site to bring it into modern times.
-
Archdiocese of Anchorage
For this archdiocese I was able to integrate native Alaskan elements into a design that celebrated its local culture.
-
ARZA World
For the nation's leading provider of travel for Jewish congregations, I designed a site that presented all their destinations in a usable format.
-
Archdiocese of Los Angeles
When the nation's largest diocese needed a new site that combined some 40 separate sites into a single design, I was able to create a design that won a nod from the Webby Awards.

Ascend
When Paulist Press required a new approach to book design that their in-house staff could not provide, they asked me to re-envision how a book on Christianity might work.
First and foremost, I am a designer. I design things using words, conventions, ideas, images, graphic elements, pixels and code. I synthesize. I bring together a wide variety of elements to achieve a stated goal.
A well designed web site is a thing of joy. Graphic design does not just pretty things up. It provides context, focus, unity and emphasis. It guides the user through a vast array of information and makes the experience pleasant. It enhances findability and explains things.
Of course design is part of a collaborative process. Others are involved and provide input to the designer, who must also balance the information architecture and user experience to create a great user interface. A good designer is appreciated by engineers and coders.
